The GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It works on many operating systems, in many languages. This is the official web site of the GIMP, and contains information about downloading, installing, using, and enhancing it. This site also serves as a distribution point for the latest releases. We try to provide as much information about the GIMP community and related projects as possible. Hopefully you will find what you need here. Grab a properly chilled beverage and enjoy. Pre-Releases of Perl bindings, Help pages and GAP for GIMP 2.02004-03-26 Pre-releases of the GIMP Perl bindings, the new help pages and the GIMP Animation Package are now available at ftp.gimp.org and its mirror sites. These pre-releases are all updated to work with GIMP 2.0. Gimp Perl is an extension for writing GIMP Plug-ins in Perl. GIMP Help is user documentation designed for use with the internal GIMP help browser or a web browser. The GIMP Animation Package is a collection of plug-ins to extend the GIMP with capabilities to edit and create animations as sequences of single frames. The GIMP Hits 2.02004-03-23 The GIMP developers are proud to release version 2.0 of the GIMP, the leading free software tool for image manipulation. This release is a major event, marking the end of a three year development cycle by a group of volunteers and enthusiasts who have made this the most professional release of the GIMP ever. It is the first stable release that is officially supported not only on Unix-based operating systems, but also on Microsoft Windows and Macintosh OS X. Started in 1995 by Spencer Kimball and Peter Mattis, the GIMP has evolved into a mature and powerful application. The latest release has major improvements in the user interface, making the GIMP more accessible for casual users as well as graphics professionals. The quality of the code base has also been substantially improved, making it easier for the open source community to contribute useful and high-quality add-ons to the GIMP. The full press release along with a document describing the new features of GIMP version 2.0 are available as PDF files. Jakub Steiner has prepared a bunch of small video presentations which show some of the new features as well. The GIMP 2.0 release is available for download at ftp.gimp.org and from the mirror sites. The GIMP Web Site Gets a Facelift2004-03-23 The previous design of this site was created more than five years ago. It looked good at that time, but both the web and the GIMP have evolved since then. Many talented contributors have worked on this new design and re-organized the pages in order to make it easier for you to find everything you need to know about the GIMP. The old site is still available as classic.gimp.org. GIMP 2.0 Release Parties2004-03-22 To celebrate the upcoming GIMP 2.0 release, GIMP release parties are being planned. The GIMP Wiki has a list of all parties. Choose one to join or add your GIMP release party. Plug-In Registry | GIMP Development | GIMP User GroupDernière mise jour : 24/03/2004 à 12:10 ARCHIVES >>>>>
